Our available animals change from day to day so check back often or call the shelter to ask about our most current adoptable animals
All of our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, receive age appropriate vaccinations: rabies and distemper vaccinations, flea, tick and de-worming treatments, FIV/FeLV testing, ear cleaning, microchip, and other medical treatments as needed.
Poppy
Poppy has been through a lot, he has been adopted and returned several times and is looking for a home where he can be independent. He is scared of new people but does great with those that he knows.
Maya
Hi there! I'm Maya and although I arrived at PAWS as a terrified kitten I have made a ton of progress. I am still shy with new people but give me time and I will show you how much of a love bug I can be. Give me a few scratches behind the year and we can begin this beautiful friendship.
Eva
Eva has made SO MUCH progress. She was terrified when she came in and although she is still undersocialized, she is friendly and welcoming. She will need lots of patience but I'm sure will be a great house cat.

About Natalia: When Natalia came to us, she had been living outside for a long time and forgotten how friendly and nice humans can be! She may not ever be a clingy lap cat but she would do great in a quiet home where she can curl up and be independent. About Sparrow: Sparrow was a local stray who arrived at PAWS with her three kittens. She is now ready to find a home of her own with a family who can keep her busy and give her lots of room to play. She is a friendly and spunky girl and will make a great companion.

About Click: Click came to us as a stray and isn’t quite used to people yet. He responds very well to pets and loves head scratches so we think that in the right home he will really come out of his shell. He is looking for a patient and loving family to give him a great home.

About Barin: Barin was found as a stray and was practically starving. We’ve fattened him up a bit but he still needs a family who can take good care of him. He’s friendly, social, and enjoys making friends with shelter visitors, if only one of them would take him home!

About Mango: Mango came to us as a stray living in a cold, abandoned trailer. She’s playful and enjoys socializing with people and other cats. She’s hoping to meet the perfect family who can give her a nice, warm place to live.

About Betty: Betty was found as a kitten outside with several of her siblings. After several months of socializing here at PAWS she has become much more social and friendly. She is looking for a patient and loving family to make her dream of becoming the perfect housecat come true!

About Kali: Kali was rescued from New York City and is still adjusting to life in Maine. She’s got that calico attitude but once she gets used to new faces she is happy to get some good head scratches and pets. She is looking for a patient family to help her come out of her shell.

About Yamaha: Yamaha came from a feral cat colony and is still very shy around humans. We think that based on her progress already she will adjust with life with humans. She will need a patient family who will give her a chance as well as lots of time and space to adjust to her new home.

About Primo: Primo has been through a lot in his life, he was saved from a high-kill shelter in NYC and now is in a whole new environment! He is still adjusting to his new surroundings and is a bit skittish but with time and lots of love he will adjust quickly. Given the chance, he will show you what a great cat he can be.

About Cookie: Cookie was brought in to us as a stray and had lived outside for his entire life. He is still adjusting to humans and can be skittish at first but he is making progress every day and just needs a patient family to give him a home!
Tiger
Tiger is a sweet and friendly girl who is used to a comfy, cozy home environment. She gets along well with pretty much everyone and enjoys the company of other cats. She’ll make a great lap cat for her new forever family.
Marvel
This pretty but oh so shy girl was found in a barn. While the other cat that came with her quickly came out of her shell, Marvel is taking her time! She had 4 little babies in foster care and is now hanging out with the other cats in one of our rooms: she would love a kitty friend in her new home!

Mamma Mia
Mamma Mia is a beautiful cat who came in with her kittens. Now that she’s not busy being a mom, she’s looking for her furever family. She doesn’t have a lot of experience with people so she’ll need a lot of love and patience in her new home.
Clementine
Clementine was found as a stray with her sister Betsy Ross and her kittens. She has lived outside for so long she doesn’t know how nice humans can be and needs some gently reminders. She is sweet girl who is still adjusting to this new life.
Ceasar
Caesar is still a bit skittish but he has really warmed up to people since he has been at PAWS. He prefers to observe his visitors from afar but once he is comfortable, he will approach you for some love and affection.
Violet
Violet hasn’t quite decided how she feels about humans just yet so she keeps to herself and likes to perch as high as she can to survey the room. She’s looking for a patient family who can show her that humans aren’t so bad after all!
Leif
Peony
Peony is still a bit shy when meeting new people but she warms up to them with time. She loves pets on her head and behind her ears. She would like nothing more than a new family to give her some daily love.

Miranda lived with her owner for 11 years. She is the kind of cat that only bonds with one person. She is fine with other cats and still loves to play with toys. Maybe not your typical lap cat but she would be a fun companion for someone who doesn't necessary need a kitty to pick up!
